The Project
GC-VIEW is a project being developed at NIBBLE - Engenharia, Lda. The main objective of this project is the study and implementation of a system capable of acquire and transmit image over GSM/GPRS Networks and access it by E-mail, Web page or mobile phone.
1st Fase of the Project
In this fase the work was focused on resourch and study of the components of the project, which included: the physical layer of the network; transmission protocols; image capture and encoding machanism. It was studied possible alternatives in the marquet for the image caption modules and it was chosen the optimal for the project.
2nd Fase of the Project
Concluded the 1st fase, it was initialized the implementation of the comunication protocols, made an initial aproach to the power hardware for the module, necessary testing software and final aplications. At this point, the essecial objectives were accomplished, being already operational the capture and transmission of image, locally, over the TCP/IP protocol through internet, and over the GSM/GPRS network.
3rd Fase of the Project
This fase was directed to the study of the possibility to send MMS with the existing system, was also developed the final hardware for the camera module and made some optimizations to the software.
